If the original Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin (MSO) for your trailer has been lost or is otherwise unavailable, a duplicate may be requested only by the original dealer that sold the trailer.
For Dealers
The original selling dealer must complete the following steps to request a duplicate MSO:
- Complete the Duplicate MSO Affidavit attached to this article.
- Have the completed affidavit notarized.
- Submit the completed and notarized affidavit to American Cargo Group (ACG) for processing.
A fee is charged for the creation and mailing of each duplicate MSO. ACG will provide the applicable fee and payment information as part of the request process.
ACG cannot issue a duplicate MSO directly to an end customer. The request must come from the original selling dealer.

For Trailer Owners / End Customers
If you need a duplicate MSO, please contact the dealer that originally sold the trailer. The original selling dealer must request the duplicate MSO from ACG on your behalf.
What if the original dealer is no longer in business?
If the original selling dealer is no longer in business, ACG cannot issue a duplicate MSO directly to the trailer owner or another dealer.
In this situation, contact the appropriate DMV, BMV, or other motor vehicle titling agency in the state where you would like to have the trailer titled or registered.
That agency can advise you on the process and documentation required to obtain a replacement title or other appropriate ownership document. Requirements and terminology vary by state.
